Identification

Belly is yellowish

Similar Species

White-crested Tyrannulet is larger than Straneck's Tyrannulet.

Distribution

Breeds in Argentina in the dry western part of the country to Andean foothills, and possibly in Bolivia. During non-breading season migrates both north and east, occurring in Argentina, Bolivia, Uruguay, Paraguay, and possibly Brazil.

Taxonomy

Straneck's Tyrannulet is a recently described monotypic species.[1][2]

Habitat

During breeding is seems mostly to occur in a habitat called Monte in Argentina, but during non-breeding season occurs in more types of habitat.

Behaviour

Song seems very different from the most similar species.
