Distribution
Cambodia, China, Laos, Malaysia, Burma, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Taxonomy
Subspecies davisoni may be split as "Pale-eyed Bulbul" leaving subspecies eous and finlaysoni as "Stripe-throated Bulbul" (strict sense).

- Pycnonotus f. davisoni: "Pale-eyed Bulbul". South Myanmar (delta of the Irrawaddy River)
- Pycnonotus f. eous: South east Myanmar to south west China (southern Yunnan), Thailand and southern Indochina
- Pycnonotus f. finlaysoni: Malay Peninsula (south Myanmar and Isthmus of Kra to Malacca)

Moist lowland forests and montanes.
