South America: found in Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil
Taxonomy
Subspecies
There are 2 subspecies[1]:
- T, x. xanthogastra:
- T, x. phelpsi: slightly larger and has yellow on breast
Habitat
Moist lowland forests and montanes.
Behaviour
Diet
The diet includes fruit, insects and nectar.
Breeding
The 2 creamy white eggs have brown specks. They are incubated for approximately 14 days; the young fledge between 14-18 days later.
