Identification
84 – 92.5 cm. Black with a blue gloss, white lower abdomen and under tail coverts, tail feathers tipped white but a black central pair, crest of forward curling feathers, fleshy yellow knob and wattles at the base of the bill. Sexes similar but female lacks the yellow cere of the male, and has white markings on its crest and barring on its breast and upper belly.
