Identification
84 – 92.5 cm. Black, white lower abdomen and under tail coverts, tail feathers tipped white but a black central pair, crest of foward curling feathers, fleshy yellow knob and wattles at the base of the bill. Sexes similar but female lacks the yellow cere of the male, and has white markings on its crest and barring on its breast and upper belly.
It is endangered as it is hunted for food and sport.

Behaviour
They nest off the ground and both sexes build the nest. 2 eggs are laid.
The diet includes fruits, leaves, seeds, and small animals.
