Went to Moore on Thursday 23rd to try to see a bittern or the resident tawny owl. Didn't see either but did see 2 brimstone, a cabbage white, a peacock and a small tortoiseshell. The weather was beautiful and more like a May day than winter. Can't help but think that the climate is going mad!

Thursday was the warmest day of the year and it really felt like spring so it wasn't surprising that butterflies were showing so well. Moore is a bit of a sun trap with all those little open glades, so probably felt warmer than the 18C recorded that day.
