I am hoping to go birding in Queensland with three others later this year. We cannot agree on the best two weeks from mid-October onwards, or does it really matter. We are not going to the far north of Queensland. Any advice would be appreciated.

It really shouldn't make much difference. If you're interested in doing some wader watching then I suppose that numbers might be a bit later in the year, but all the summer migrants should've arrived by mid-October so you'll see the same species at any time during that period.

Thanks for the information.
