Present for a friend moving to Texas (1 Viewer)

I have a friend moving to live just outside Houston, Texas in a few months from the UK and was wondering of the best bird related book to buy as a present.

Is there a Birds of Texas book or would she be better off with a US book, if so which one.

Plus is there a recommended "Where to watch birds in Texas" type book.

I'm sure I could just Google it but personal recomendations are better at sorting the wheat from the chaff.

Thanks

Mono

If she has no experience in birding in the US, then a field guide would be a must. Especially for TX, I would prefer a book covering the continent, as in the new big Sibley OR the national geographic guide. If she has an iphone or ipad (or similar android products probably), then the Sibley app with all the images of first edition, the text of the two regional books and voice recordings of most of the birds would be good too.
