Bound for the North! (Cygnus cygnus)

The last rays of the setting sun were partially eclipsed by a dense rain-cloud which threw the background into darkness whilst the swans in the foreground were picked out by a shaft of light. The exposure was a bit of a nightmare and I needed a few goes to get it right. Fortunately the Whoopers were leaving in small groups every few minutes -this was the last group to go.

The call of the North must be answered!

A splendid flight capture. Beautiful lighting. The black clouds did you a favour. I think the white plumage of these birds stands out beautifully against the dark background.

Awesome shot,Steve,perfect background.I do not understand exposure,one little bit,I just move the slider bar up and down as I think fit!!!
This shot would look great as a wall canvass.
