:eek!: gobsmacked....However looking back at last years dates I had a male visit late Feb!! well chuffed.
Today it sat in the feeder tree for a while, then moved to the bush with the Housesparrows but has now disapeared so sod the gardening I am on lookout

Had my 2nd ever Siskin visit the garden this week! It was really early in the morning (dark skies and no coffee) but I still managed a quick snap through the kitchen window. I've also had Blue, Coal and Great tits checking out the nest box, so my fingers and toes are now tightly crossed.

Wow ! look what stopped by this morning ....a very nice Blackcap , our first ever.
I was trying out a new Tele from the bathroom window and nearly dropped everything into the sink in my haste to get a shot.
I knew it was uncommon as i didn't have a clue what it was so I was very excited. Looked through my garden bird book quickly and didn't see it . ? Looked in my Collins and sure enough there he was Blackcap :t:
A bulky wobbler (my Wife read aloud) err I think thats warbler :-O Mostly migrants but some 2000 winter in British Isles.
