    "Ethereal" moments in time..

Driving through a road in Buckinghamshire, cleared of snow with drifts five or six feet high on either side. As I drove slowly along the road, four weasel kittens slid down the snow onto the road in front of me. I stopped the car and watched them for about three minutes, only a few feet in front...

Are you going to the Birdfair this weekend?

Hi All! I am actually AT the Bird Fair - Testing the computers. It's a bit strange sitting in a big tent in the middle of nowhere posting on BirdForum. I'll be back here on Sunday to take the stand down and will be pleased to meet some of you. Dick

    Internet In A Mess!

Hi everybody It seems the problem is down to the proliferation of spam. As soon as one method of stopping spam is found, they find a way round it and send via a different route. Only this afternoon I got five spam messages asking if I wanted my homing pigeons made three inches longer. Dick

    New UK Windfarms

Like Alan, I'm a keen walker. But i'd rather see a windfarm on the horizon than a nuclear or fossil power station. Virtually every human activity has a negative effect on our environment and wildlife, so every choice we make about energy sources is a payoff between different types of...

Birdman Have you ever considered adopting a teenager? I've got a spare one if you can't find one. He can programme video machines as well and is fairly housetrained. Bug Eyed Eagle

Hello from Essex culture capital of England

I'm new on here but felt at home immediately when I noticed somebody pointing out the cultural jewel that is Essex. I personally come from the other side of Essex, a small place called Shoeburyness which is not far from Foulmess. It's good to be in the company of cultured people. Innit?
