    Well, I did a Google search and found out they like raisins, so I put raisins out on the railing of my deck. AND guess what? He came over and ate 3 raisins, WOW. Thanks everybody for your input, there is 9 inches of snow on the ground, I just love the birds

    Humming Birds Sleeping? What are they doing?

    I'm feeding about 30 humming birds right now with 2 feeders. My question is I see a humming bird about twice a day that cocks his head side ways and opens its mouth, he looks like he's sleeping, he doesn't move at all, he does this for about 30 seconds or more, He look like he's in a trancel...

    This bird has been drinking at the hummingbird feeder, we think it is a female Downing Woodpecker. Its sticking its long beak down into the hole to feed. Pictures can be seen here ---- Woodpecker feeding at the hummingbird feeder If it wasn't for that yellow plastic flower it couldn't hang...
