    Rock Pipit ?

Caught this Pipit posing rather nicely on a wall on Holy Island a couple of weeks ago. At the time I put it down as a Meadow Pipit but now having looked at the photo the dark legs are leading me to Rock Pipit. Any thoughts much appreciated Ian B

    Northumberland

I met 2 very helpful birders at Bamburgh other than that as you say I had the place to myself, unbelievably I didn't see a single other bider on Holy Island even on the causeway which was absolutely heaving with birds. Ian

    Northumberland

Had a fantastic day out yesterday on the Northumberland coast, Bamburgh and Holy Island. I had not visited this coast for many years and had forgotten just how stunning it is. If anyone knows a better spot for winter birding I sure would like to hear of it. So many birds I didn't know where...

    Airlines and Tripods

Does anyone have any recent experience of Airlines views on taking scopes and tripods on as hand baggage ? I am travelling on a domestic BA flight later this week and really dont want to have to check my cf tripod into the hold only for it to reappear a shattered mess ! Thanks Ian

    Hide Clamps for Digiscoping?

Chris I find my hide clamp fine, although it is quite a solid clamp. The only problem I do find, and this equally applies to a tripod in a hide, is what I suppose could be best described as "hide bounce" which can cause camera shake. Ian

    video editing program wanted but.......

Bill I edit dv on a P3 500mhz machine, it works fine. But I do have a much bigger hard disk of 200 GB. Firewire is an absolute must, USB even USB 2.0 will drop frames. I don't know what others have found on here but I would seriously caution against Pinnacle Studio 9.0 as it is very buggy...

Perry Thanks, presumably you can't use the DCB with the stay on case ? Ian

    Your thoughts appreciated

Andy, thanks Yes I am looking at a bracket type. The Oly 5060 is a fairly chunky piece of kit and I would really be concerned about the weight "hanging" on the scope eyepiece. Also from what I've read on here the tube type adapters are quite time consuming to fit whereas with the bracket type...

    Your thoughts appreciated

Fairly new to birding and digiscoping so please be gentle with me ! I would like to try and link up my Swarovski ATS 80 with my Olympus 5060. After extensive research a couple of adapters appear to offer possible solutions. Firstly there is Swarovskis own adapter the DCB, looks tidy but how...
