    Directional mic on avideo camera

Thank you Ermine, I checked with my cam and it doesn't have a phantom power (only later models have phantom power). So I'll need other options. What about AT897 or ME66 ? Sassi

    Directional mic on avideo camera

Hi all, A few months ago I purchased a video camera. So now I'm videoing some of the birds I see. You can see some short clips here http://www.israbirding.com/videos/ It is time to add a good mic to the setup. I think that the AT4071 would be perfect (with a softy), but is too pricey Do you...

    Gull ID please!

Hi Alsirhan, Nice pics. By the first pic I thought Heuglini, by the second one I thought Barabensis, very puzzling. Lou As for the not so yellowish legs, remember that towards the middle of winter Barabensis acquires deep yellowish orangy bare parts color. Heuglini is very very variable in color...

    Mistery Stint from Israel

Hi all, Noam Weiss located an interesting stint at Eilat - southern Israel. He asked me to post some pics he took yesterday. The ID is not straightforward as you can see from the pics. The Stint's belly is contaminated with oil so the feathers sticks to the belly. The size is close to Little...

    Odd Little stint

more opinion please The overall size shape and black legs are shared by three sp. Little stint (default), Red necked stint and Semipalmated sand. the later two are potential rare vagrants. No other pics, I only had the bird for 10 sec, a glimpse on the bill (not enough) much like Little - not...

While I'm at it with my lack of Calidris skills... Semipalmated?

If I may (haven't seen any semipalmated), Shape and proportions are more like Semipalmated, bill shape also better for that sp, the base of the lower mandible of WRS is yellowish. Also the supercilium better fits semipalmated. I think the summer arrowheads on the flanks of both sp are reduced to...

    Odd Little stint

Hi all, Can anybody comment on this Stint plumage. Not a juv Little Stint nor a winter plumage, with those dark arrow heads markings, If there were white or buff fringes present to the scapulars and coverts I would consider other juv sp. Sassi
