From Opus
Genus: Calicalicus
[edit] Description
Two species from Madagascar.
Both are rather small and have a tit-like appearance.
[edit] Taxonomy
Calicalicus is a genus in the family Vangidae.
A molecular-genetic analysis showed that it may be most closely related to Vanga, Cyanolanius, Schetba and Euryceros. However a cladistic analysis based on morphological characters suggest that it may not belong to the Vangas at all but could be closer to the Drongos and Monarch-flycatchers.
