Genus: Falcunculus
Description
This genus contains three species from Australia which were formerly considered only one species, Crested Shrike-Tit.
With their bold black, olive, white and yellow plumage they recall the Golden Whistler.
Taxonomy
Falcunculus is a genus in the Family Falcunculidae.
It was previously considered a part of family Pachycephalidae.
Due to similarities in bill morphology, Wattled Ploughbill has formerly been considered a close relative. But apart from the bill, there is no other evidence for a close relationship.
