Genus: Pteridophora
Description
This genus contains only one species, the King of Saxony Bird-of-Paradise from New Guinea.
A rather small Bird-of-paradise with a small bill but the male with two very long, scalloped, enamel blue brow plumes. This plumes are often used by Bowerbirds to decorate their bower and are also in use as decoration by local people.
Taxonomy
Pteridophora is a monotypic genus in the family Paradisaeidae.
