Distribution
New Zealand: found on Rangitira Island (Chatham Islands) and adjacent seas.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Pastures, low shrublands, and tall coastal forest.
Behaviour
The nest is a burrow under the forest canopy, lined with leaves. A single white egg is laid.
