Identification
13 cm, male and female similar
Olive brown above and buffy-brown below except for white central belly. Rusty forehead and rump, rufous edges to flight feathers and white supercilium that may be weaker in females or in younger individuals.
Similar species
The only member of its genus on Taiwan and therefore not really relevant.

Mountains of Taiwan
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
This species was recently split from White-browed Shortwing.
Habitat
Dense undergrowth especially near streams in mature forest at 1000-3000m asl.
Behaviour
Very little known.
Vocalisation
Song consists of short, fairly simple components and direct repetition of components is rare.
