Distribution
South-east Asia: found in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Burma and Thailand
Taxonomy
Palawan Bulbul was formerly included in this species.
Subspecies
Four subspecies recognized_
- A. b. tephrogenys from southern Burma to the Malay Peninsula and eastern Sumatra
- A. b. bres in western and central Java
- A. b. balicus in eastern Java and Bali
- A. b. gutturalis on Borneo
Habitat
Broad-leafed woodland and mixed deciduous forest and forest edges.
Behaviour
Diet
Their varied diet consists of both fruit and insects.
