Distribution
South-east Asia: found in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand
Taxonomy
Formerly considered conspicific with Brown-cheeked Bulbul. Palawan Bulbul was formerly included in this species.
Subspecies
Four subspecies recognized[1]:
- A. b. tephrogenys from southern Myanmar to the Malay Peninsula and eastern Sumatra
- A. b. gutturalis on Borneo
Habitat
Broad-leafed woodland and mixed deciduous forest and forest edges.
Behaviour
Diet
Their varied diet consists of both fruit and insects.
