A restricted range in central Ethiopia.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].
Placed in genus Serinus by Clements.

Habitat

Semi-arid scrub on rocky hillsides and savanna with scattered trees.

Behaviour

Diet

They forage in long dry grass and low vegetation. They are known to have fed on lavender seeds. There is very little additional information available.
