was there a fantail warbler in SE Asia?

Hi Mike, The usual name for Fan-tailed Warbler (Cisticola juncidis) is, in Asia at least, Zitting Cisticola. This is a common resident bird in Thailand. Kaeng Krachan itself is mainly forested of course but if staying at the HQ (near the reservoir), you'll pass through fields and suitable...

    Bird Report for Pokhara

I lived and worked in Nepal from July 2011 until November 2012. I was based mainly in the Far-West and have kept a blog that has highlighted (and continues to highlight) some of my sightings from there. You can read the blog at Confessions of a Global Birder. I presume it is Long-tailed Shrike (Lanius schach erythronotus) but am questioning the amount of brown, rather than grey, on the head. Is this age/sex related? If so, I'd...

India - Okhla Bird Sanctuary, New Delhi

In October 2012, I visited Okhla Bird Sanctuary, New Delhi on two occasions. I have written a full report with details on how to get there, links to maps and photos, a log of both days and a full systematic list. The sanctuary is only an hour or so from the city centre and is a worthy day out...
