    Stag Beetle

    Last week I saw one flying about at dusk and this one pictured was going for a walk, but he had some holes in his armour like a bird had been pecking him. I have recorded it with the staghunt people.

    Hybrid again!

    I expect we will be seeing more and more of the so called "yuck duck". One yesterday and another to-day in a different place with a large duckling.

    Turnstones

    Just got back from a very very cold east coast visit, I saw a few of these birds on the shoreline, they were well camoflaged and didn't seem to mind the cold, when I got home I looked them up and they were turnstones, are they common to the east coast? I have not seen them before.

    Blackbirds

    Do you find that when the weather is cold like at the moment blackbirds will visit the garden in larger numbers than at other times of the year, most of the year I just have the pair but this morning I looked out and there were seven all quite close to each other, how kind they are sharing like...

    Hello all

    I have been wanting to join a bird forum for ages and found you to-day thanks to the bbc. I am a great bird lover, I have been a member of the rspb for a few years and also have pet budgies and a rosella.
