...Actually the full title of the PNAS paper is "Household actions can provide a behavioral wedge to rapidly reduce U.S. carbon emissions". But there's a lot here that is translatable to other countries. The paper is here. There's a good synopsis of it here. The main finding: "We find that the...

    Cambodian Heteropteran(?)

Attached is a pic of an insect I found at Angkor earlier this year. I am reliably informed it is some sort of Heteroptera - anyone have any more specific thoughts? It's about 2cm across. Also, does anyone know what might have made the trilobitesque structure on the wall to the right of the...

    Diurnal bat...in February?

For a couple of days I've been seeing a bat flying outside where I work at about dusk time. I assumed it was a Noctule, given the time of day & the fact it seemed to be flying with very shallow wing-beats. Today I have seen it flying at midday, this strikes me as rather unusual. There is a...

    Hello all...

...Just signed up after lurking for a while, hoping for a friendly experience! Just come back from 3 weeks in S. Africa with a birdlist of 224 including 97 'lifers' that being said my UK birding is now more or less non-existent as my time is taken up with the insect life. Cheers!
