    Snake ID - Southern Spain

Thanks for that Dave. I'll warn her to keep her dog away from it if it shows up again!

    Snake ID - Southern Spain

Thanks Christian, my only other book assisted guess would be Montpellier Snake then. Going off the uniform colour, "eyebrows" and size.

    Snake ID - Southern Spain

A friend sent me this photo taken in the Alpujarras in Southern Spain. Is it a grass snake? She estimates it was 5 to 6 feet in length, so pretty big. Thanks for any help.

Cheshire And Wirral Birding: Hills, Lowland and Coast

Eleven Waxwings paid a welcome and overdue visit to our garden in Stockport yesterday. A garden first for me, they hung around for about an hour. One interesting thing was that a visit from the local Sparrowhawk, which scattered every other bird, didn't seem to bother the Waxwings at all, they...

Coming along great Arthur! Would that be just a suggestion of a "No Fishing" sign it's launched itself from?

Certainly very nice so far. Love the lighting, and you really do capture the power of the surf brilliantly (as usual!).

Peter Mathios - Ducks Unlimited Winner!!!!

Well done Peter. I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets a great deal of inspiration out of the work you post on here.

Welcome to Nick's dining room table.

Agreed, very creative. Mind you, if you gave up smoking you could probably afford to do this in gold leaf! ;)

Welcome to Nick's dining room table.

Tremendous stuff Nick. All beautiful, but purples 3 and 4 for me. The new Waxwing/Thrush edges in as my favourite of the three versions.

    One for the Morning Cuppa

Nice one Tim. I've not seen his work before. Doesn't he capture movement brilliantly? Not to mention feather textures. Inspiring stuff (for someone who has not picked up a paintbrush since mid December!).

Welcome to Nick's dining room table.

Brilliant stuff Nick! I'm trying to decide which of the two Waxwing/Mistle paintings I prefer. It's a tough choice but I think for me the earlier one just shades it. I love the composition and the colder palette of the one in post #1807.

    Mike's conservatory

Hi Mike. I've not been keeping up to date on here for the past few weeks due to work etc, so love the woodland scene, the owl, and I reckon those sparrows are going to be suberb. Brilliant stuff.

Very nice Tim. Love the texture and sense of depth in the snow. I also reckon the fox's face looks just right now.
