    What is this with the chestnut cap? Size is small, slightly smaller than most pipits and slightly larger than a Zitting Cisticola.

    Bali, Indonesia Nightjar

    I was on a remote beach yesterday where many nightjar were resting. As I walked toward a Thick-knee location, I flushed nearly 40 birds. The photos below are not all of the same bird but are all from the same place at the same time. What type of Nightjar?

    Unknown call at Dusk - Dalian, China

    Recorded last Monday right at dusk in the same general area where Grey Nightjars had been vocalizing a minute or so before this recording. Densely wooded area (deciduous) in coastal mountains.

    I was out taking in night sounds a few nights ago and recorded this whistle. Can't find anything on xeno-canto that matches. Any ideas? It started just after dark. It was in a dense forested area. Thanks.

    Seen last week. Blakistoni Water Pipit? Everything seems to fit this but leg colour. I saw the same type in the same location with the same leg colour a year ago and believed them to be Water Pipit then. True of false?
