Nice one Ian - I had kind of given up on this thread as X still rules it seems but great to see your input and photos. Last year I had Yellow Wagtail and Wheatear on the paddock where the pigs are kept near the fishing pools at the back of Rowberry Garden Centre. Cheers

Yes deleted it by mistake trying to tart it up a bit, embarrassingly. Probably a good thing as there’s too many sites/apps to check to get the news and I’d rather be birding! I’ll just be posting on Bluesky now (until I delete that!) Cheers

This is up and running again, principally for the selfish reason of keeping tabs on scarce and rare stuff, dates etc for future reports, but feel free to bookmark it. I’d be grateful if it wasn’t shared on the hateful X site as I don’t want any bots and shite. I’ll be updating it daily ish and...

Bottom left one from behind looks good for it. A photo of the rump would clinch it but certainly similar to the one I saw the day before, maybe a bit lighter/frostier in colour the one I saw

I got a photo of the Siskin flock yesterday along the Salwarpe Alders. Using a counting app and adding about another 70 it missed it gives a flock of c250 birds of which no more than 25 were Redpoll.

For comparison a handy photo showing the grey mantle of the Yellow-legged Gull (blue) compared to Lesser Black Backed Gull (red) and Herring Gull (green). YLG shade of grey is somewhere between the two others.
