Walking near Ballinaboy south of Clifden last Sunday about 2.00 pm, I saw a huge bird being mobbed by two crows. By the time I got the bins out it was some distance away but I was clearly able to see the unmissable pure white on the tail and also a lot of white on the crown of head and nape. I... -

On our club outing to Nimmo's Pier on 1/12/12 we were reasonably confident that we saw the Foster's with three Sandwich Terns. Conditions were difficult - low tide, long distance and directly under a low bright sun. Has nobody else noticed a big decline in Greenfinch numbers? -

The small bird I saw with the Black Swans was not a cygnet. It was black. Having done some research, Black Swan cygnets are light grey brown - almost whitish looking. Sorry for the false alarm. It's a bit early yet for cygnets. -

I saw a ringed Black Headed Gull at Rusheen Bay, Galway this morning, number 2060. Yellow ring, black numerals on left leg. Metallic ring on right leg. I reported it to birdwatchmayo as it may be one of the Lough Mask birds. Is there anywhere else I should report to? -
