Why are Meopta's so hard to sell?

Agreed.... I am glad tenex raised a 'question'..... something not right here.

Why are Meopta's so hard to sell?

Hunters like 10x42's and makes sense. I sold a pair of 10x42 HT's and they sold real well, real fast. It is the 32 model that hurts and yet surprisingly an increasing number of birders are going that way, especially as the average age of birders 'gets up there' and it is easier to lug around a...

Why are Meopta's so hard to sell?

For the money difference, it is hard for me to accept they are the same bins in regards to the inners. Perhaps on outside but inside? My mom taught me, nothing is free in life. I simply can’t believe the binoculars are the same quality, “ per my mom’

Why are Meopta's so hard to sell?

To tag on to your list.... Hunters shop at Cabelas....period. Not sure how Cabelas can sell them for so cheap for the same quality (or are they?????) as optics have little profit in them.

Why are Meopta's so hard to sell?

I too rarely find Meostars selling used. True, tough sell, but I feel people who have them, keep ‘em, thus the reason we never see them for sale. ODD as that might sound.

Why are Meopta's so hard to sell?

Not sure .....the SFL hasn't been around so difficult to state.... I will look at the EL, but have considered them in the past in my quest for the perfect 32. I think cost was the factor but can always be patient to see what comes up on ebay or here.... Not going to toss the idea out but not a...

Why are Meopta's so hard to sell?

I don't want to spend that amount of money, and....those are simply too large. I am into the bins that are more of the smaller generational size (Meostar...even the MHG or perhaps the new SFL ...) Thanks though for advice

Why are Meopta's so hard to sell?

Now that the 8 & 10x30 Zeiss SFL's are around, that throws a monkey into all of the 30-32's...until we have a chance to try 'in the field' . I am more in the market for a good 10x32 than your 8x32 was. I still enjoy the overall Meopta design, it just suits me. But the 10x are only in the B1.1...

Why are Meopta's so hard to sell?

Dennis...I am not buying your thinking here as the situation unfolded. I am not upset you didn't sell to me, even if I offered more on this site (PM'd) you and you never responded but obviously reduced the binocular by an addition $ amount after I contacted you last night. Your loss, you are the...

Why are Meopta's so hard to sell?

You never really responded here Dennis.....

Why are Meopta's so hard to sell?

And I too made you a better offer than that too... Perhaps you didn't check my PM so I might give you that but I know how PM's work and i know you get that message in your email too. This was before it sold on ebay for I looked and it was still offered on ebay. My purchase would have netted...

Why are Meopta's so hard to sell?

You could have done better than $550

Why are Meopta's so hard to sell?

And I think too... I know when I would go into Sportsmans Warehouse or Cabella's.... the optics they had to sell were catering to hunters. One almost felt embarrassed by saying, 'no....I am a birder'..... Even the marketing images of the Meopta caters to the hunter.

Why are Meopta's so hard to sell?

But keep in mind,...that for these bins...a lesser FOV is really not that much. In fact the Meostar's shine in near 420 feet, which is just great. I know the Swaros (450 Feet) and SF's (466 feet) are higher but one has to ask, how high is high? When does the 420 foot FOV Meostar somewhat equal...

Why are Meopta's so hard to sell?

In all fairness to Dennis...he is just trying to sell a pair of bins and has put up a question as to why they are not selling.... I would keep it at the price you have Dennis as the $700 is a great buy. Don't take less for it sounds like you have a good copy. jim

Why are Meopta's so hard to sell?

Other than the basic Monarch, I have never seen any Nikon EDG in action/ in the field, or even the current MHG's.... Dennis...hang in there. I have a Meostar 8x32 and feel it is one of the best bins out there. I like you included the Leica eye-cups too. Turn it into the 10x32 and most likely I...

Why are Meopta's so hard to sell?

A few things.... First, Meopta's as others have stated, have no name recognition for 'birders' here in the states. It is a hunting binocular or so it appears, as Cabella's markets the same B1 line to hunters. It is a good thing you have them on eBay for you might gain hunters. Second...when...
