Anyone got any info on where to watch birds in the Dordogne? Looks good for Golden Oriole, Nightingale, Bluethroat, Honey Buzzard etc... Any specific nature reserves? Good marshes?
 
I've just got back from that part of the world, I was staying near St Emilion. I wasn't really birding, but you'll see no end of Black Kites everywhere, I saw some Hoopoes too. I had a family of Redstarts nesting in the walls of my cottage and Swallows drinking from my pool mid flight! Not that exotic but I kept on seeing Green Woodpeckers and I also think I saw a Short-toed Treecreeper, though admittedly, my ID was more on the location than firmly IDing the bird.
