Falcon ID, Cyprus (1 Viewer)

Hi everybody,

I have some more birds I'm not sure about and need your help.

We saw this falcon we at Lemesos, Cyprus.
Is it a Northern Hobby Falcon or something else?

Looks like a Peregrine to me.

Aren't the coverts too light for SF?

but belly and flanks are dark brown

Not a classic Saker for me, with underwing markings a bit unusual.

Not sure what's going on with the belly but it's not a Saker Tom. The underwing coverts pattern is enough to rule out that possibility.

Yeah, coverts do not look good, maybe just mud

structure and head pattern is perfect for a juvenile northern (calidus type) peregrine.
