We found this injured bird on our porch last night. We're trying to determine if this is a local or native specie to see if we can take it for treatment or if we have to let it go. It's a little smaller than a robin, is not very vocal and seems to have an injured right wing.

The bird was found just west of Portland in Oregon, USA on July 22nd. Please let us know if you can help us identify so we can get this little guy some help if possible.

You're correct and we came to the same conclusion. We set the bird back outside near some shrubbery so it could hopefully rejoin its parents. We sat as far away as possible to stay on cat\predator watch for an hour or two. Information is power and we know now, with more research, that we could easily have done more harm than good so lesson learned. We definitely understand the concern for the little guy and hope with you that all ends well.

Thank you, lolitabonita.
