Victory HT x 10 - do I have a problem ? (1 Viewer)

On recent trip to Ghana after using the bins in very hot conditions for a day, around 105degrees F in Mole NP, I had some problems focusing the next day, the focus wheel seemed to miss a part turn and felt like it was not engaging. Fortuately it only did this for one birding session and when used again I had no problem.
Has anyone else encoutered this ?
Should I wait to see if problem repeats itself or should I contact Zeiss ?

Any thoughts / advice welcome

David:

With this type of issue, I would continue using it until it happens again.

If there is a problem, it will show up. I suppose the problem would be
if sending in for service now, and nothing seems wrong, the tech. will scratch his
head and wonder about it. I doubt they will want to even open the binocular up.

I would make a call to Zeiss service and ask about the problem.

I fully agree.

I'd just add one thing: On any foreign trip where it might be impossible or nearly impossible to get a half-way decent pair of binoculars as a replacement if something goes wrong, I always take a spare pair. Always. What would you do in the middle of nowhere if your focuser quits working? Or you drop the (only) pair you've got by accident? That can always happen, no matter how careful you are, and if you haven't got a spare pair the trip is over.
