Too ill defined (in fact missing) solid, dark belly patch.
Here merely the flanks are dark, and that's not good for juvenile lagopus (adult can be excluded because of pale throat/upperbreast, and the tail markings), as isn't the underside of the tail.
Furthermore the bill/cere seems too heavy, not matching the more finely built bill of lagopus.

Me too! WRT to the bill and cere, I can’t make either out at all on my big iPod, much less judge of their “heaviness”.
