Poison-fear red kite to go free (BBC News) (1 Viewer)

A rare bird of prey which experts suspect may have been poisoned is released back into the wild.

More from BBC News...

What an unfortunate set of circumstances for this poor bird to land in.

I am pleased to hear that this Red Kite has been nursed back to health. Still though, it was unfortunate that it was caught out as it was. Someone has been kind enough to support it's plight by contacting the SPCA in the first place. :t:

The news item states that Red Kites are reasonably successful in Scotland at the moment. Long may this shift for a more secure life for these birds continue, as it should. They are so beautiful as they are.

The suspicions that this bird it had eaten a rat, which had eaten some rat poisoning - that is a tall order for any BoP to take on board.

Scottish SPCA's wildlife centre in Dunfermline, they must have felt very pleased that they have succeeded in resolving issues here. First time for them too. They helped the bird back to health - bless them.

Good ending to a story, and I am glad the bird is all right again.

Regards
Kathy
