I'm having a lot of trouble telling Cackling and Canada Geese apart unless they are side by side. Are all of these Cackling? I saw these guys at Fern Ridge Lake in Eugene, OR on March 9th.

Pics 2 and 4 show birds with their bills open . . . were they honking or cackling?

Otherwise, I'd tentatively say Canada for pics 1-2 (bills look long), Cackling for pic 3 (stubby bills), and pass on pic 4. But wait to see what others say, too.

I see a lot of Canada Geese here in Las Vegas and have yet to see a Cackling Goose. I have to say that all of the photos are Canada Geese, and I maybe wrong but in my opinion I think they are Canada Geese. These are beautiful photos thank you for sharing them with us.
