I have a 2 week hol in China coming up and wonder if anyone has come across any electronic bird field guides for the region? It's not really a birding holiday but I'll probably take my bins.

Nothing available. I believe Chinese birders have the Chinese version of Mackinnon & Phillips digitised but that's of little use to you.

Depends where you are going too...eastern China is well served by Brazil...otherwise it's M&P plus OBC for me

Thanks for your advice. I guess you're referring to "A field guide to the birds of Borneo, Sumatra, Java and Bali" by MacKinnon and Phillips? OBC I guess is a reference to the Oriental Bird Club?? Brazil - don't know.

As you say, it seems pretty poorly provided for.
