Nikon DSLR & Vanguard TA 101 adapter (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I have a Nikon D40 and a Bresser Safari spotting scope. I'm wanting to attach the two with a Vanguard TA 101 adapter.

After connecting it all up my camera says ''Lens not attached'' and will not recognise the adapter mount.

The guys in the shop I bought it from are scratching their heads & said they have never known it not to work before.

Any advice please.

Thanks in advance,

Alan

I've listened to a presentation last weekend at a bird fair about digiscoping. As far as I remember the speaker mentioned, that DSLR do not take shots, if they don't detect the brand own lens. You have to use a full manual setting.

Thanks very much Bughunter. It sounds obvious now that you say it, but I was stumped for a while. All is in working order now - thanks again,
