When I recorded this, I thought it is Great Lizard Cuckoo, but now when I looked it first time at computer screen, the lack of red eye brings Mangrove Cuckooto my mind. What you think?

I think your first guess is correct, it's not a Mangrove Cuckoo

Thanks Andy. Is it young bird then? I just wonder why the red eye-ring does not show. Or maybe the lighting is too challenging?

As you say, I think it's the light and sometimes, these features aren't as obvious as you think they will be from the way they're illustrated.

The thing that bugs me is that the entire head seems to be rufous. But maybe that also can be influenced by the light. Compare http://www.birdforum.net/opus/Great_Lizard_Cuckoo and click the gallery link near the bottom of the page

Thanks Guys. Great Lizard it is. Rufous wingfeathers rule out Mangrove (I think...) And it sure look big enough for GLC.

That's another thing, it's big, too big for Mangrove I think.

Mangrove would have a grey head with a black mask and a yellow base to the bill. This is a Great Lizard Cuckoo.
