Taken at 2000m baove sea level near Quetta this week - Rufous Backed breeds here and the grey-ishness appears to suggest that species more to me. Common Redstart ruled out? had whitish throat too.

Pale fringes to tertials suggest Rufous-backed to me - but I've no experience of the species.

Agree, combination of pale-edged tertials, white-tipped greater coverts (mc's are obscured) eyering and darker ear coverts look good for Eversmann's/Rufous-backed.

The tail pattern is wrong for female White-throated as there is far too much rufous...their rectrices are dark brown for the distal half.

Thanks. Another birder suggested Common Redstart but habitat, altitude and time of year completely wrong. I also could not see why it was not a Rufous Backed Redstart but good to get more opinions when questions have been raised.
