Hello, Im new to this site and Im after a little help. I have been given a pair of binoculars that belonged to my Great Grandfather whom passed a few years ago. I have been trying to find out some info on these particular binoculars. I searched the web and got next to nothing then after doing a Google search this site came up. Im hoping somebody who knows binoculars is able to help.
They are Krauss France, on one side is 312-26 milli 116611 8 x 40 and the other side is BBT Krauss France.
Any info would be appreciated. Thankyou

Hi Frank,
Krauss was a well regarded French binocular producer from the late 1800s on.
They produced binoculars for France, the UK and Russia in WW1.
They eventually merged with Huet, probably the leading name for French defense optics, forming BBT Krauss Huet.
There is some dozen mentions of their glasses in Hans Seeger's monograph "Military Binoculars and Telescopes", but none are 8x40, so your item is perhaps a civil market product.
