Washington, D.C., yesterday 1/13, midafternoon. I'm perplexed on these two.

The first includes two pics: one flying, one landing. All pics are from pretty far away, so not great quality. Thanks!

I agree with fugl. Where exactly did you see the Common Goldeneye?

Not sure where he/she saw it, but I saw one yesterday from Washington Sailing Marina (the marina is in Alexandria, VA, but the river is considered part of DC)

I saw two at the Gravelly Point boat ramp. Among a group of mallards and one or two scaup (not sure which).
