Hi All you Australian birdwatchers, I need your help. I've just returned from a trip to Australia where I spent a few days in the Port Douglas area. Whilst there I saw a tiny little bird high in a tree which I really struggled to ID. It was fairly non descript APART FROM red under the throat and red under the rump. It has a short tail and MAY have been yellowish behind the head.
It was so small I really struggled with it. I saw it along the sea shore.
Can anyone help me ID it and maybe even refer me to a photo.
Thanks

Egg identification, Queensland

Cheeky thread hijack on my part, apologies but my Sis in law found the egg (see photo) while walking the dogs today and wonders if anyone could tell the species it belongs to. She saw a pale greyish small bird of prey fly off from the spot (or very near it) so that may or may not be a clue. Thanks in advance,
Richard
