this is backyard, Lymm, Cheshire. Apologies for awful photo through sunlit dusty window as I just grabbed phone and clicked! Identify raptor on blackbird?
 
thanks! quite a shock, happened in a second, one moment 5 blackbirds, tits and sparrows then this bird abd a flurry of feathers and gone with its breakfast! must clean windows.
 
yup, exhilarating despite pathos. it rains dirty rain so much here and sun is so rare between clouds but at least you could identify for me. i nearly interfered but fortunately had the good sense to let nature run its course. the strike broke the blackbird's neck immediately and i saw the hawk flying away with it in talon fifty yards into bushes.
