I guess this has to be Red Throated, just can't quite nail the plumage. Immature/transitional perhaps?

Thanks

Andrew

Do they have a transitional plumage?

I think an adult in winter would have a much whiter foreneck?

Dusky/streaky neck-sides make this a Juvenile. As Andy says adults are much whiter and more sharply defined about the head and neck.

Thank you both. I'll put it down as Juvenile RT. This time of year I sometimes see adults still in breeding plumage but hadn't seen this pattern before.
