Long-eared Owl Young Calling (1 Viewer)

The Definitive Binocular
I was wondering: Is there anything else which sounds similar to the call of young LEO's fledged/begging call?

The reason I ask is because I am submitting my TTVs for the Bird Atlas project and I want to be sure.

I definitely heard some last night, but on one of my early morning TTVs I heard, in two separate sites, what I believed to have been LEO. But they didn't have quite the same 'whiney' quality as I would expect from hearing them previously.

I'd like to go back and check tonight but I am too scared to go into the dark conifer forest on my own!

Young buzzards have a squeaky call not too disimilar to a LEO. I've been hearing it quite a bit in the last week or so.

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about that. Thanks for reminding me. I've not heard that call for many years now. Anyone got an online recording?
