Well this morning started nice and bright, no snow and only a very slight frost. A trip to the local woods very tempting, that biting raw wind had gone, it was just like a spring day. One walk out of the 3 you can use in the woods takes about an hour, so listed below are the birds i sighted in that walk.
1. and a nice 1st, Great spotted woodpecker, (still cant find the Greens!)
2. Jay (4)
3. Magpies -good numbers.
4. Rooks, but they were flying over to their feeding grounds.
5. Nuthatch (2)
6. Long tailed-Blue-Coal-Great-tits, also in good numbers.
7. Bullfinch, 1 male, 3 females.
8. Thrushes, 1 Song-Mistle-2, 8 Fieldfare, Robins-4.
9. Wood pigeon, lots of.
Alas no Raptors on this walk, but all in all a very pleasent hour and a bit.
