Pretty much I will define the behavior of one American Bird, and you try and guess what it is.

First one:

This bird lives around the Gulf Coast area, and spend most of their time wading in shallow waters for food. They croak and cluck deeply.

Points:

Nope, Nope, and Nope. Next clue:
This bird is very distinctive. If you see it, there is virtually no way you could Mis-ID it.

Nope!
By "Lives on Gulf Coast" I mean that that is pretty much the only place you can commonly see them in the U.S, but they show up in other locations in Central and South America.
Note: The bird has a unique bill. (I am practically giving it away now!)

This bird builds covered nests, is small, and eats bugs. The juveniles are missing a distinct head feature that the adults have. This birds name is one word.
