Asian desert warbler? Iran Central desert. Rig-e-jen (1 Viewer)

Agree with Whitethroat, my request for the date was more with regard to Ali's comments about the location and habitat - "a very harsh environment. Just salt and sands and just a couple of tamarixes". If the pic was taken in say, April or October, then it wouldn't seem odd. If taken today, or mid July, then that would be perplexing.. :)

Edit - i've just thought to look at the name of the file. It seems it might have been taken 22.1.23. Do Whitethroat normally winter in Iran? I thought they all went to Africa?

Two Sylvia communis + Reed Warbler overwintered certainly into late December at a Leytonstone (NE London) roundabout, frequenting rough ground and a deep bramble strewn, watery ditch in 2014.

Yes it was winter. That place ( rig-e-jen in Iran's Central desert) is too hot to go in any other seasons...
